Artist’s Note
My works are based on the "return" of oriental history which means 'To go back to the original'. The traces of time built up from within the depths of the earth which contains the history of time that we did not lived or experienced ourselves. The dead bodies of many natural species have now become the ground, and they are the sign of nature timeline. Here I led the theme of 'born from the ground and returning to the ground'.
Based on this perspective, I approached the theme nature. It expands from the ground to the trees, and from the trees to the mountains. The act of stacking colors on colors of printmaking is the same as the act of history according to the passage of time. Therefore, I tried to emphasize the meaning by using the wood plate that has been grown from the earth. And using the technique of reduction, the image on the plate disappears gradually, but the image printed on the paper is getting more and more complete. This is the meaningful point where the image shows the piling up process according to the flow of time, just like the nature and ground building up in the flow of time.

Artist’s Note
I was attracted into the concept of the space of rooftop pool. It was fascinating that the trait of water, which naturally had to flow somewhere, is not on the ground, but places in the ambiguous spot, in the middle of the roof, creating a flow within it. That is why I am working on the series of the rooftop pool’.
I tried to present both the fixed images of the squared building and the repeating images of roof, and the fluid changes of the pool water. For the still image of a rooftop, I tried to express it flatter without using perspective or vanishing point. And for the flat traits of this series, I worked on silk screen techniques.
