"Korean Picture Books: Fantasy in Everyday Life" Seminar for Hong Kong primary and secondary school students

The Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong invited Ms.Kyung Hyewon, Korean author-illustrator to Hong Kong as an honorable guest for 2022 Hong Kong Book Fair- KOREA PAVILION. Kyung is working actively as a author-illustrator in Korea. Her works includes ‘Bigger Than You’, ‘Just a Bit’, ‘Elevator’, and ‘Special Friends’ and so on. One of her books – ‘ Dinosaur X-Ray’, was chosen as one of the 10 good books at the ‘18th Primary School Students Books Chart’ in Hong Kong in 2021. 


On July 22, a group of Hong Kong primary students visited Korean Cultural Center and participated in the Korea Picture Book seminar hosted by Kyung Hyewon. Kyung vividly introduced her books about dinosaurs to the kids. They were very excited and shouted out the dinosaurs' names together. After the talk, kids had collage art experience by colouring the dinosaurs with sponges with they favourite water colours and later cutting it and sticking on another paper.

Kyung Hyewon visited Mukuang English school (local HK school located in Kwun Tong) on July 25 and hosted a seminar entitled "Korean Picture Books: Fantasy in Everyday Life". A total of 176 secondary students participated in the seminar. The event commenced with Kyung's sharing about her works, followed by Q&A, live drawing, autograph session and group photo shooting.
