[Festive Korea 2019] 21st Century Korean Music Project: New Generation Gugak Concert
Gugak means Korean traditional music. In
addition to the traditional Korean traditional music that has been encountered
in Korean historical dramas and movies, the new generation gugak is loved by
many people as well.
Since 2007, the Gugak Broadcasting System has been holding a music contest
named “21st Century Korean Music Project” to discover talented young Gugak
musicians and creative traditional music with contemporary sense. This year, Korean
Cultural Center in Hong Kong, in collaboration with Gugak Broadcasting System, proudly
presents the “New Generation Gugak Concert” to Hong Kong. This will be an
exclusive experience for audiences in Hong Kong to enjoy contemporary
interpretation of the traditional Korean music with creative and promising young
Korean musicians. KCC is honored to invite Mr. Yip Man Fai Barry, the
well-known radio program host, to be the MC of the concert!
