The Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong presents “Echoes in Between: Four Voices in Korean Abstraction”  from February 4 to March 19, 2026, at the gallery space of the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong. Organized in collaboration with Soluna Fine Art Gallery, the exhibition features four leading Korean  abstract artists—Ha Tae-Im, Jang Seungtaik, Kim Young-Hun, and Park Yoon-Kyung. While each artist engages abstraction through different visual languages, they are united by  shared inquiries into color, layering, gesture, and space, revealing how meaning emerges in the  subtle intervals between material and immaterial, presence and absence. Ha Tae-Im’s Un Passage series evokes psychological resonance and human connection  through flowing bands of color. Jang Seungtaik’s Layered Painting records time and presence with translucent layers. Kim Young-Hun’s Electronic Nostalgia merges traditional brushwork with digital sensibilities  to visualize vibrations between analogue and digital. Park Yoon-Kyung layers color and text on silk and chiffon, dissolving boundaries of image  and space to explore universal values of communication and emotion. At the opening reception on February 4, over 50 figures from Hong Kong’s cultural and art  community, as well as collectors and general visitors, attended and engaged in exchanges.

In collaboration with Whitestone Gallery, Gallery Exit, Soluna Fine Art, and Stroll Gallery, the exhibition will feature works by six prominent Korean abstract artists: KWON Soonik, BAE Sangsun, WOO Jong-Taek, JEONG Yun Kyung, KIM Deok Han, and LEE Chae. This exhibition brings together Korean artists represented by Hong Kong galleries, showcasing the depth and diversity of contemporary Korean abstract art. Through their works, visitors will experience a visual expression of "Unfolding Silence", an expression of inner reflection and sensory experience. KWON Soonik employs a unique technique of layering clay and paint, infusing the gaps with graphite to capture narratives of healing and memory—a process shaped by patience and the accumulation of time. BAE Sangsun presents her "Morphing Void" series, which explores the flow of life and thought by layering paint on black velvet, expressing the tension between chaos and creation. WOO Jong-Taek creates meditative works that question the essence of nature and the universe through powerful gestures in ink, charcoal, and white clay. JEONG Yun Kyung combines East Asian ink traditions with Western abstract expressionism to create unique compositions that blend space and structure. KIM Deok Han layers lacquer paint on wood panels and metal to create colors imbued with memory and emotion. LEE Chae explores the continuation of life and enlightenment through symbolic and abstract representations of the natural cycle of blooming and decay.

The Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong and the Seoul Museum of Art present the exhibition KITSCH & POP: Korean Pop Art Now, on view until November 22, 2025. The exhibition offers a timely re-examination of Korean Pop Art, highlighting its significance amid the global spread of K-pop and K-culture. It features new works by young, post-internet artists who have been active since the 2010s—including Sunpil Don, Mirim Chu, Sangho Noh, Raejung Sim, Sungsil Ryu, and Jeongsu Woo. These are presented alongside selected works from the Seoul Museum of Art’s collection by Kyoung Tack Hong, Donghyun Son, MeeNa Park and Shinhye Kim—key representatives of the Korean Pop Art movement from the early to mid-2000s.
