[Other Events] Talk: Traditional Narrative Songs of Korea and Hong Kong – Pansori and Naamyam

On June 23rd (Fri), Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong held a special seminar on the traditional Korean and Hong Kong music genre - Pansori & Naamyam in the center exhibition hall.
The presentation was a collaborative effort between a Hong Kong traditional music expert who is learning Korean language at the Sejong Institute and a lecturer from Sejong Institute. They compared and introduced the two traditional music genres of Korea and Hong Kong, also performed Naamyam on spot. About 20 local cultural arts experts and Sejong Institute students participated in the event.

▲The Naamyam musicians from the local music group, The Gong Strikes One, introduced a part of the content of Chunhyangga, a traditional Korean pansori in Cantonese, also compared and analyzed the musical characteristics of Naamyam and Pansori.
