Greetings! Welcome to the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong.
As an important cultural hub of Asia, Hong Kong hosts several international festivals and art fairs such as the Hong Kong Arts Festival, Art Central, and Art Basel, as well as being home to the world's leading auction houses and art galleries. Hong Kong is set to consolidate its lead as Asia's international art and culture hub with the West Kowloon Cultural District project. Moreover, Hong Kong’s art market is the world’s third largest after New York and London, which makes the city highly attractive to Korean and the world’s artists.
Since Korea and Hong Kong signed the MOU on Cultural Cooperation in 2004, many cultural organizations and groups have also signed various MOUs and have been actively engaged in cultural exchange. In Hong Kong, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea and the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong have been sharing Korean culture with Hong Kong citizens through various cultural activities such as "Festive Korea", the Korean cultural festival held every autumn.
The Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong will continue to make every endeavor to provide a platform for artists from Korea and Hong Kong to collaborate and build networks by offering opportunities not only for Korean artists to visit Hong Kong but also for Hong Kong artists to visit Korea for cultural exchange.
Furthermore, our Center plans to share more of Korean culture with Hong Kong citizens through a variety of cultural activities, expand exchanges between cultural organizations, and promote mutual visits between Korea and Hong Kong, aiming to further contribute to the development of Korea-Hong Kong relations.
We kindly ask for your attention, participation and cooperation, in our mission to promote cultural exchange and cooperation between Korea and Hong Kong. Thank you.
Director, Choi Jaewon
