Where do images begin, where do they travel, and how are they interpreted anew?
The 2026 Korean Young Artists Series, wash-in-progress, presented by the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong, brings together works by Park Kideok, Yoon Jeewon, and Lim Nosik. Through painting, photography, and moving image, the exhibition explores the ways images are produced, circulated, and continuously reinterpreted across East Asia.
Drawing on the metaphor of “washing” in analog film processing, the exhibition reflects on images as entities that remain in flux, carrying traces of movement, memory, and cultural exchange. Presented in Hong Kong, a longstanding crossroads of East and West, the exhibition invites visitors to reconsider contemporary East Asian identities and visual cultures through images that resist fixed meanings.
