Korea Square 2026 – Hong Kong Korean Singing Contest is Now Open for Applications!

Whether you love high-energy K-pop dance tracks or soulful, atmospheric ballads, you are invited to join the Hong Kong Korean Singing Contest and showcase your vocal talent! The champion will win a round-trip flight ticket to Korea.

If you love K-pop and singing, don't miss this chance! Record a video of your performance within the deadline and upload it via the application form to join the preliminary round. Successful finalists will take the stage of their dreams and perform live in Korean!

Know every K-pop hit by heart but aren't ready to sing on stage? Don't miss the interactive "Random Singing Challenge" happening on the day of the finals! Audience members who participate will have the chance to win exquisite mystery gifts. Mark your calendar, come support the finalists at Korea Square, and cast your vote alongside the judges to crown Hong Kong's ultimate Korean singing champion.

How to Apply:

Please complete the Application form and upload your video to the link from the application form.

-Maximum file size: 1 GB

-One-take recording is recommended. Excessive editing or audio post-processing may affect scoring.

-This competition is open to the general public and amateurs. professional singers and individuals who have previously made a professional singing debut are not eligible.

Finalist announcement: 15th October via registered email

Eligibility & Requirements

1. Open to Hong Kong residents holding a valid Hong Kong Identity Card. (Native Korean speakers and individuals with a professional singing debut experience are not eligible.)

2. Participation is limited to individuals (solo entrants only).

3. Each participant may submit only one application. Multiple submissions by the same participant will not be accepted.

4. Contest songs must be Korean-language songs only (including K-Pop, OSTs, Trot, and other genres), with at least 70% of the lyrics in Korean.

5. The song performed in the final round must be the same song submitted for the online preliminary round.

6. Finalists are responsible for preparing and submitting their own accompaniment track (MR) for the final round. 

7. By participating in the contest, entrants agree that their submitted videos and final-round performances may be recorded and used by the organizer for promotional and publicity purposes.

8. The Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong reserves the right to amend the competition rules and to make the final interpretation and decision on all matters relating to the contest.

Judging Criteria & Competition Format

[Round 1: Online Preliminary Round]

Submission Requirements: 

Complete the online application form and submit a video performance of one Korean song to festivekorea@kcchk.kr (A cappella or instrumental accompaniment is permitted. Pitch correction, autotune, and filters are prohibited.)

Judging Criteria:

Korean pronunciation (30%)

Vocal ability and tone quality (30%)

Stage presence and expressiveness (30%)

Motivation for Participation (10%)

Selection: 

The top 10-12 contestants will advance to the final round based on the evaluation results.

[Round 2: On-site Final Round]

The final score will be calculated based on the combined results of the professional judges' evaluation (70%) and audience voting (30%).

1. Professional Judges' Evaluation (70 points)

Vocal ability and pitch accuracy (30 points)

Korean pronunciation and lyric delivery (20 points)

Stage presence and expressiveness (20 points)

2. Audience Voting (30 points)

On the day of the final round, audience members may vote for their preferred contestant through the designated QR code (one vote per person).

Audience votes will be converted into a score (maximum 30 points) and combined with the judges' scores.
