2021 K-POP Dance Contest “CHOOM” Finals 

Presented by the Korean Cultural Center of the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong and the Korea Tourism Organization Hong Kong


15th July, 2021 (Hong Kong) The Korean Cultural Center of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong and the Korea Tourism Organization Hong Kong co-host the 2021 K-POP Dance Contest “CHOOM”- Hong Kong Final on 29th July 2021 at 19:00 (HKT) at Academic Community Hall at Hong Kong Baptist University.

Venue: Tsang Chan Sik Yue Auditorium, Hong Kong Baptist University  (Baptist University Road Campus)

Date & Time: 29th July, 2021 (19:00 HKT)

Prize: Champion: HKD 7,000 with ticket to the final contest and Hallyu(韓流) tour in Korea; 

1st Runner-up: HKD 5,000; 

2nd Runner-up HKD 3,000; 

3rd Runner-up HKD 2,000


The event name “CHOOM” means dance in Korean. This contest aims to open a stage for Hong Kong youths to show off their passion and talent by dancing with their favorite K-pop songs.

 

After passing the online screening process, all selected teams will be performing at the offline stage as regional finalists and competing to win a prize ticket to the global final contest and Hallyu(韓流) tour in Korea organized by the Korea Tourism Organization.

 

Popular choreographer Sunny WongDet Dik and Lydia Lau will be sitting as judges to encourage the contestants. In addition to the contest, a special K-Pop Random Play Dance corner will be arranged by Hong Kong Joint School Society of Hallyu during the event to create an incomparable K-pop atmosphere for both the dancers and audience.

 

The Hong Kong final stage will be opened to the public. The registration for free tickets will open at Eventbrite on 22nd July 11:00 (HKT). A special Korean souvenir will be given to all audiences.

 

The Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong will put forth all efforts to provide various K-pop events for Hong Kong youths to enjoy and learn more about Korean culture and to explore their potential.
