    Happy Lunar New Year! The Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong presents a special concert to celebrate the new year. Korea's top Harmonicist Park Jong Seong who is actively performing on international stages is coming to town to meet audiences in Hong Kong. From his best repertoires to a special collaboration with Hong Kong harmonica ensemble RedBricks exclusive for Hong Kong audiences, the beautiful sound of Harmonica will delight our ears and mind. He is also the first Korean ever to win the first prize at the World Harmonica Festival in 2009, held every four years in Germany. He has won first prize in many other competitions, including the Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival in China in 2008, and Whole-Japan Harmonica Competition Champion of Tremolo solo in 2011. As a world-class harmonica soloist, Park has been invited every year to perform at the annual Korea tour of the world-class soprano Sumi Jo, who highly acclaimed him that “Jong-seong Park’s ability to touch the listener's heart by creating an amazing and fantastic sound from such a small instrument.” As a soloist, Park has performed with Korea’s major orchestras including Korean Symphony Orchestra, Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, the Ulsan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Busan Symphony Orchestra, and the Chungnam Philharmonic Orchestra. He also actively engages in recording various soundtracks of movies and TV dramas and different genres of music. Pianist Younghoon Cho graduated from the prestigious Seoul Arts High School and Seoul National University of Korea before achieving his master’s degree from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. During his student years, Cho not only won top prizes in numerous national competitions in Korea, including the Eumak-Chunchu Music Competition and the Korean Liszt Competition, but also won the third prize in the 2005 Osaka International Music Competition and the second prize and two special prizes in the 2012 Béla Bartók International Piano Competition held in Hungary, successfully proving his musical talent on the international stage. As a soloist, he has performed with Ukraine’s Glinka Symphony Orchestra, Hungary‘s Szeged Philharmonic Orchestra, and Korea’s Festival Ensemble Gaudium. Currently a member of the Arz Ensemble and the Korean Liszt Society, he performs at top music venues in Korea, including the Seoul Arts Center, the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, the Seongnam Arts Center, and the Stradeum both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. Hong Kong based Harmonica quintet RedBricks is formed with five enthusiastic musicians from King’s College. They have been frequent winners in the World Harmonica Festival in Germany. However, winning trophies and awards is only the very start of their music journeys. They have performed as members of Hong Kong Harmonica Association in Shanghai Expo 2010, Singapore, Malaysia and Germany. In 2017, the RedBricks represented Hong Kong to perform in Bahrain, Middle East. In the same year, the group was entitled the 3rd runner up in World Harmonica Festival Trio Category. In October 2018, RedBricks was invited by the Hong Kong Home Affairs Bureau to join the 1st China International Import Expo in Shanghai, showcasing Hong Kong harmonica music in the National Exhibition Area. During the tour to Shanghai, RedBricks also performed in the Hong Kong Dinner hosted by the Chief Executive Mrs. Carrie Lam, demonstrating harmonica music as the soft power of Hong Kong. Other than that, Redbricks is actively performing in various commercial events such as the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens.  Gayageum performer Gwuijin Kwon graduated from the Korea National University of Arts and Traditional Arts and studied under Ahn Sook-seon, Seong Chang-soon, Jeong Ye-jin. Kwon has won many traditional Korean music competition including 1st prize at the 27th Busan Gugak Festival, 2nd prize at the 17th Gayageum Byeongchang Grand Festival, 'Sori Festival Award' at the 15th Jeonju International Sori Festival and more. She also performed in overseas countries including China, USA, and Egypt.

Embodying the free spirit of improvisation, the Experimental Lab brings together musicians and new media artists in Hong Kong, Seoul, Berlin, Zurich and Montreal for exciting live and real-time virtual collaborations. Connecting artists and audiences around the globe, the immersive adventure in improvisation challenges preconceptions and offers a kaleidoscope of impromptu creative experiments in sound and visual media. This year’s event features five ticketed performances. Each performance includes two individual star sessions showcasing a vibrant mix of artists from different backgrounds. Participating artists include Daniel Chu, Olivier Cong, Loisey and Charles Kwong in Hong Kong, the artists in Seoul on traditional instruments from Korea, the CLOrk-Concordia Laptop Orchestra in Montreal, and avant-garde musicians in Berlin and Zurich.
