    When is your birthday? What do you eat on your birthday?   Korean people eat a bowl of seaweed soup cooked by their mother on their birthday as a way of honoring their mothers who brought them to world. We can also oftenly see Japchae in Koreans’ birthday meal as it is a dish for celebration.   The second session of "The Taste of Korean Food" workshop in September presented by KCC will teach you how to cook these two dishes. Want to learn and cook for your families and friends on their birthday?     Good News! The Makgeolli Brewing Workshop held by KCC last month attracted more than 500 applicants! Seeing how enthusiastic the response was, KCC decided to add extra lessons! 🎉🎊 Those who couldn't attend last time, don’t miss the chance~!   The workshop will allow you to try doing some of the steps of Makgeolli brewing. After 2 weeks of fermentation, you can share it with your friends and family!   Want to make your own Makgeolli?   3. K-Food MasterChef in Hong Kong 2024 한식경연대회

    K-Food MasterChef in Hong Kong, hosted by KCC, is back!   Whether you're a professional cook who is excellent in cooking culinary delights or a creative culinary enthusiast who can come up with tasty dishes with any ingredients, KCC welcomes you to come and participate in the competition! It is definitely the best opportunity to showcase your masterpiece!   This year's theme is 'Jang' (Korean paste). Contestants are required to create their own creative and unique dishes making use of at least one of the three main Korean ‘Jang’  – Gochujang (chili paste), Dwenjang (soybean paste), and Ganjang (soy sauce).     The Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner! 🥮 How will you spend the Mid-Autumn Festival with your family? Do you know how the Koreans celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival?   The Mid-Autumn Festival in Korea is called "Chuseok"(추석). Same as Hong Kong, Koreans celebrate it on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. During Chuseok, Koreans will pay respect to the spirits of their ancestors, visit relatives, and have meals together to celebrate. Korean traditional food, such as Korean pancakes, Songpyeon, Japchae are the popular dishes that Koreans eat during Chuseok.   In the first “The Taste of Korean Food” workshop in September, KCC will teach you how to make Chuseok food – Korean pancakes.
