A dish to welcome the New Year in Korea

你知道韓國人會在元旦吃什麼嗎？是一碗年糕湯（떡국）！在韓國，每個人的年齡都在新一年第一天自動大一歲,有人甚至說只要吃兩碗年糕湯, 就會變大2歲呢!

Do you know there’s one dish Korean always eat to welcome a new year! It’s a bowl of tteokguk. (Rice Cake Soup). Korean always eat it on New Year’s Day, the first day of the Lunar calendar. Everyone’s age went up one year on New Year’s Day, and it is even said if you eat 2 bowls of rice cake soup, you will get 2 years older!

Military Protocol: Symbol of the Military in the Joseon Dynasty

國立古宮博物館首次綜合介紹朝鮮軍禮制度，展示朝鮮五百年歷史的軍事力量及其作為至上權威的象征意義。古代軍事儀式帶有國王總攬軍事統帥權的象征意義，能彰顯王室權威。有關軍事活動的禮儀被稱為「大閱儀軍禮」，屬於韓國五禮之一，當中包括「講武儀」、「大閱儀」、「宣露布儀」、「獻馘儀」及「大射儀」。

Military rites were one category of Joseon state ceremonies with systemized protocols and procedures known as the Five State Rites, and rituals related to military activities served as a means to symbolize the king’s command of the armed forces and to reinforce the authority of the Joseon royal court. Check out this special exhibition held at the National Palace Museum of Korea traces the full extent of the military rites performed in the Joseon Dynasty.

Glitch: New Korean Netflix Series

Netflix繼《人文教育101》後再次與編劇陳漢賽合作，即將發佈喜劇懸疑驚驚悚片《Glitch》！故事講述女主角Hong Ji-hyo與UFO俱樂部成員一起尋找失蹤男友，從而踏上大膽冒險的歷程。上映日期及時間有待公佈。

After the great success with the series "Extracurricular', Netflix announced that they would collaborate again with the screenwriter Jin Han-sae, and the production team at Studio 329. The upcoming series 'Glitch' tells the story of Hong Ji-hyo, who tries to track down her missing boyfriend with the help of members of a UFO club. The details and the release date will be announced in the future.

Pandemic reshapes Korean wedding scenes

疫情如何改變韓國人的婚禮？今年6月舉辦婚禮的新人就指，「最可惜的是不能好好招代客人吃飯，因為吃飯在韓國文化中別有意義」。一系列社交距離措拖不但影響韓國傳統的婚禮模式，更增添了新的面貌和風俗習慣。

"One of the saddest parts was we couldn't properly treat our guests to dining, which means a great deal in Korean culture" said Choi, who had arranged a wedding in June. The Pandemic adds new aspects and customs to the Korean wedding culture in adapting to the social distancing requirements.
